The group luncheon features CGFA awards and recognition of retiring board members, CGFA Foundation President Bob Gallagher will announce the winners of the 2026 scholarships, the introduction of the new CGFA President and board members. The luncheon will conclude with a Clear Center update and introduction to the film screening of the film, “World Without Cows” by speaker Frank Mitloehner, Ph.D., UC Davis.

Film Screening of “World Without Cows” followed by a q/a session led by moderator Frank Mitloehner, Ph.D., UC Davis and representatives from Alltech. Through interviews with farmers, ranchers, scientists and other experts in agriculture and environmental science, World Without Cows delves into the complex ways cows impact our world. This compelling exploration is led by two award-winning journalists who work in agriculture. The filmmakers traveled to more than 40 global locations to examine the cultural and economic significance of cows, as well as their role in nourishing the world and their impact on climate and to answer the question, “Are we better off in a world without cows?”

Golf Tournament at Sandpiper Golf Course with Lunch

The annual golf tournament will take place at the stunning Sandpiper Golf Course, a premier coastal course just outside Santa Barbara known for its ocean views and championship-level play. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, setting the tone for an exciting morning on the greens. Participation is limited to the first 80 players to register, ensuring a well-paced and enjoyable event. Players will be treated to a breakfast sandwich, lunch, and the opportunity to compete for prizes, making this tournament a memorable blend of friendly competition, great food, and one of the area’s most scenic golf experiences.
